Leslie Lambert

Stop by PH Barn Door October 2-4 to see a live art demonstration by Leslie Lambert!

Leslie Lambert is a watercolor artist whose work celebrates the people, animals, and landscapes of the American West. Known for her signature poured watercolor technique, she creates luminous paintings that blend careful observation with the spontaneous movement of water and pigment, capturing both the character of her subjects and the atmosphere that surrounds them. Raised in the Intermountain West, Lambert developed a deep appreciation for open spaces, working landscapes, and the enduring connection between people and the land. Those influences continue to shape her work as she explores the traditions, resilience, and quiet moments that define western life. Whether painting ranch women, cowboys, horses, livestock, wildlife, or sweeping western landscapes, Lambert is drawn to stories of authenticity, stewardship, and the enduring bond between people and place. Her paintings honor those whose lives remain closely tied to the land while celebrating the beauty, dignity, and spirit of the American West.

Through layered pours of transparent watercolor, gravity, and flowing washes, Lambert embraces the medium’s natural movement to create luminous passages of light and color that cannot be achieved through brushwork alone.  She is especially drawn to the relationships between people, animals, and the land, and to the traditions that continue to shape western culture across generations. Today, Lambert divides her time between Southern Idaho and northeastern Washington, where she continues to paint the western subjects she knows and loves. Through her work, she seeks to create paintings that not only depict the West, but also capture its light, its stories, and its enduring spirit.
